Property Tax Bills Due

Sept. 1, 2023, 5 p.m.

As of 1/9/23, the Town of Valdese contracts with the Burke County Tax Office for property tax collection. Citizens will recieve one tax bill showing Burke County Property Taxes and Town of Valdese Property Taxes from this point forward. Resources for payment, appeals, and revaluation information can be found below.

Ways to pay? Burke County Tax Office offers mail in payments, online payments, dropbox payments and in person payments at the Burke County Tax Office. Click on "Ways to Pay" for direct links to the Burke County website. 


In the state of North Carolina, annual property taxes are due on September 1st and become delinquent after January 5th. After January 5th, interest of 2% is added to all unpaid balances and 3/4 of a percent is added on the first day of each month thereafter until paid in full.
